Less than a week after releasing macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.5, Apple has now made the release candidates for the next updates available. Here are the details.
Currently Released Release Candidates
Earlier today, Apple released the first developer beta versions of macOS 26.5, iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, and similar.
In addition to these beta versions, Apple also released:
- macOS Sonoma 14.8.6 (Build 23J507)
- macOS Sequoia 15.7.6 (Build 24G707)
Since there were no beta versions prior to today's RC release, these versions are likely to be made available to the general public sooner.
The macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.5 released last week fixed 60 different security vulnerabilities that could allow at least one application to gain root privileges on both systems.
Apple has not yet released the release notes for the macOS Sonoma 14.8.6 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.6 Release Candidates, but we will keep track of them and update this article when they become available.
