It has been reported that Apple CEO Tim Cook and new CEO John Ternus held a meeting with Apple employees today. While Cook's remarks are included here, Ternus's comments are summarized below.
New CEO John Ternus Met with Apple Employees
Within a day of announcing the CEO transition at Apple, it has been reported that the current and future CEOs held a major meeting with Apple employees.
You can find Cook's comments from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
However, Gurman also shared details about what new CEO John Ternus said to the Apple teams. According to his report:
In his remarks to employees, Ternus said, “I am particularly excited to step into this role at this moment because I’m telling you: We are about to change the world once again.”
He noted that Apple has an “incredible roadmap” and said, “This is the most exciting time in my career to develop products and services at Apple.” […]
“Artificial intelligence is going to create almost limitless potential,” he said. “We will continuously uncover opportunities that will create entirely new possibilities for our products and services, and I am very excited about what this will mean for our users.”
Regarding the last paragraph, it has been reported that Ternus has begun to restructure internal company operations with new artificial intelligence systems.
Many of Ternus's reported comments are exaggerated. However, this is likely a fitting situation for the next Apple CEO.
It is known that Cook also made many enthusiastic, exaggerated comments about Apple's future products and goals, so Ternus is following in his predecessor's footsteps in this regard.
It is important to maintain team morale during a significant transition period, and it is clear that Ternus is trying to achieve this.
The new CEO will have the opportunity to turn his words into more than just a source of excitement when he introduces Apple's first new products under his leadership this fall.
