This marks the third collaboration between Henry and Apple. He previously starred in the film Causeway alongside Jennifer Lawrence, a performance that earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Additionally, he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his performance in Dope Thief.
The screenplay for Running is being written by Bill Dubuque, who worked with O’Connor on The Accountant 2. According to Deadline, following its premiere, the film became the second most-watched film of all time on the Amazon MGM Studios streaming platform.
As is often the case with projects in early production stages, there are no details yet on when the film will be released on Apple TV.
Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month and includes hit TV shows and movies such as Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking, and Silo.
