Apple is releasing the second wave of developer betas for macOS 26.5 and other operating systems. Here are the details.

The First Developer Beta Was Lacking in New Features

Two weeks ago, Apple released macOS 26.5 beta 1, iOS 26.5 beta 1, iPadOS 26.5 beta 1, along with other operating systems.

Considering that macOS 26.4 brought back the compact tab view in Safari and introduced the Charge Limit feature, it seems that the changes in macOS 26.5 will be limited to features across the ecosystem.

This includes suggested places in Apple Maps, new App Store purchase options, and more.

Apple released the first public beta of macOS 26.5 with the same version structure as the first developer beta that week.

We are exploring the system to see if Apple is holding back any new features for this release.
