Margo's Money Problems is one of the most anticipated premieres on Apple TV this spring, and the first reviews are extremely positive.
Margo's Money Problems Offers a Strong Adaptation of the Best-Selling Novel
A significant pair of Apple original series is coming soon. The thriller series Imperfect Women will premiere next week, followed by the star-studded Margo's Money Problems next month.
Margo's Money Problems will start with three episodes on Wednesday, April 15 on Apple TV, then continue weekly until May 20.
The series premiered last night in Austin at SXSW, and the review embargo has since been lifted. So far, the praise for the new comedy has been universal.
Here’s a roundup of review quotes:
- Esquire: "Thanks to strong lead performances, it has all the elements of a modern TV classic... We’ll see if the show enters the race for the best TV of the year, but it has heart in important places."
- IndieWire: "Everything about Margo's Money Problems is perfectly tuned to impress audiences and voters, from its award-focused spring debut to its impressive cast and sweet yet serious roles..."
- The Hollywood Reporter: "Margo's Money Problems feels just the right length for a rare series... Still, seeing them go at the end of the season left me a bit saddened."
The novel by inspiring author Rufi Thorpe is beloved, and it seems Apple has managed to create a similarly strong adaptation.
The series was created by David E. Kelley and features a star-studded cast including Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, Thaddea Graham, Marcia Gay Harden, Greg Kinnear, and more.
Now that the reviews and trailer are here, Margo looks like an emotional comedy-drama in the style of Bill Lawrence. It’s not surprising that the show premieres exactly one week after the end of Shrinking season 3.
Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month, or you can get it at a discounted rate with the Apple One bundle.
