In the video below, Stalman realizes that the MacBook Neo can handle photo and video production workflows that are more demanding than he initially thought.

‘Editing 4K video on this computer is completely fine, even with all other applications open’

As of today, with the lifting of the embargo, most reviews of the MacBook Neo seem to agree on one general point: despite the non-upgradable 8GB RAM and all the talk about the "iPhone chip," the laptop performs quite well.

There are very few reviews that capture the moment when expectations turned around as clearly as Tyler Stalman's video: Can the MacBook Neo Handle Professional Applications?

In the video, Stalman opens each application in the Applications folder and notices that the performance remains "really fast" while browsing through the Photos library. He also states, "I didn't think it would work this well," indicating that he would move on to a heavier task.

When he switches to Final Cut Pro (with all other applications still running on the MacBook Neo), he is surprised to see it play 4K video smoothly; along with histograms, vector scopes, and more.

As the video progresses, Stalman presents increasingly demanding tasks and workflows, and eventually, he has to wait for the MacBook Neo to struggle for a while.

Make sure to watch the full video where Stalman runs photo and video processing workflows and realizes that the MacBook Neo performs much better than expected.
