Do you remember the Sonos speaker that was leaked last week? It has now been officially announced, and today a second new Sonos product has also been revealed.

Sonos Play

First up is the new Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 portable speaker, Sonos Play, which features an easy-to-carry handle and charging station. Priced at $299, it sits between the more premium Move 2 ($489.99) and the more affordable Roam 2 ($179), offering the best features of both products.

According to Sonos, here are the main features:

  • Part of Your Sonos System: Connect via WiFi to create groups or stereo pair between rooms, along with a Charging Station for home placement.
  • Portable Listening: Designed for daily carry, it offers 24 hours of battery life with a durable, IP67 rated waterproof design and an integrated power bank to charge your phone, along with a removable usage ring for easy transport.
  • Expand Your System Anywhere: For the first time, you can directly group multiple speakers over a Bluetooth connection when you are away from home. Connect the Sonos Play to your phone, then hold down the Play/Pause button to synchronize up to three additional Sonos Play or Move 2 speakers. The automatic Trueplay™ setting dynamically adapts the sound to every environment.
  • Sustainability in Design: Built with optimized power management and a replaceable battery for a lifetime of listening.
  • Seamless Control: Use voice services, Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, and the Sonos app to bring your music, rooms, and devices together in one experience.

The new Sonos Play is available for pre-order today and will be released in three weeks, on Tuesday, March 31.

Sonos Era 100 SL

Sonos is also introducing the "SL" variant of the Era 100 speaker, offering a "microphone-free" version of the wireless speaker.

The Era 100 SL provides a simpler and more accessible entry into the Sonos experience. Its microphone-free design and streamlined feature set deliver reliable, room-filling sound on its own, while effortlessly expanding into the Sonos system over time as you transition to another room, stereo pairing, or creating a home theater experience.

The Sonos Era 100 SL home speaker is priced at $189, providing a $30 discount compared to the standard Sonos Era 100. It is available for pre-order today, with shipping set for the end of this month.
