Lexus is adding Apple Wallet vehicle key support this year with the 2026 ES

It has taken years for vehicle keys in Apple Wallet to truly become widespread among car manufacturers. However, there has been a wave of excitement recently with new brands offering support.

And it seems another one is joining this list soon.

Lexus has been added to Apple’s backend code for vehicle keys, according to MacRumors. This means that Apple is ready to support vehicle keys on Lexus’s side, but the car manufacturer is not yet fully ready for launch.

This confirms a recent Carscoops report that the 2026 Lexus ES will be among the vehicles supporting the "advanced digital key" technology alongside the Toyota-owned Toyota RAV4.

It is still unclear whether other Lexus vehicles will be supported or if existing vehicles will be updated through new software.

However, Lexus is a significant win for Apple’s vehicle key feature, especially since it was not included in the list of 13 new car brands highlighted by Apple last June.
