Apple announced the iPhone 17e this week and solved one of the biggest issues of its predecessor by adding MagSafe support.

There is a wide ecosystem of MagSafe accessories available for the iPhone, and these are some of my favorites.

MagSafe Chargers

I'm a big fan of the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe. I think it's the best multi-device charger on the market, allowing you to charge your iPhone with MagSafe, along with your Apple Watch and AirPods. It has a compact design and allows you to use StandBy mode by keeping your iPhone upright.

If you're looking for something more basic, Apple's own MagSafe charging puck is an excellent choice. It provides faster wireless charging of up to 25W.

MagSafe Wallet

Apple's first MagSafe compatible iPhone was the iPhone 12 in 2020. When I got the iPhone 12 Pro, I immediately switched to a MagSafe compatible wallet, and I haven't looked back since. I no longer carry any "real" wallet.

There is a wide range of MagSafe wallets available on the market. Apple's own FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe is a great choice, but it's quite basic.

Moft also produces a really smart MagSafe wallet that can serve as a stand for your iPhone.

MagSafe Car Mounts

The era of strange clips for car mounts to hold your iPhone in place is over. MagSafe has allowed accessory manufacturers to create stylish and discreet car holders for your iPhone.

Belkin's MagSafe Vent Mount Pro is a great choice if you're shopping on a budget. The only downside is that Belkin's accessory does not charge your iPhone, so you'll still need to plug it in manually. For those wanting a MagSafe vent mount that can charge your iPhone, I recommend iOttie's Velox Qi2 Mini.

If you have a car without traditional vents, like a Tesla, Belkin also makes a Qi2 MagSafe phone mount that attaches to the back of your car's infotainment screen. In my own Ford Mustang Mach-E, I use a phone mount from Jowua, but I can't guarantee it for the latest generation model.

MagSafe Batteries

MagSafe has also enabled the category of innovative MagSafe battery packs that magnetically attach to the back, allowing you to charge on the go.

I use an iPhone Air, so I opted for Apple's official MagSafe Battery - but this only works with the iPhone Air. It's not compatible with other iPhone models.

Before getting the iPhone Air, I was using the Anker Nano Power Bank. Other Smart MagSafe Products

While these are some of the most common MagSafe categories, Apple's technology has enabled many other smart products.

For example, there are MagSafe mounts specifically designed to hold your phone in the shower. There are magnetic suction cup holders for your iPhone. Spherical MagSafe chargers are available. There are MagSafe holders designed to make it easier to hold your iPhone for photography. There are MagSafe ring lights to enhance your selfies, MagSafe mounts to use your iPhone as your Mac's webcam, and much more.
