Apple TV’s weekly programming schedule will look quite different after this week, as three series have aired their season finales.

Shrinking, The Hunt, and The Last Thing He Told Me Season Finales Now Available

If you are used to certain new Apple TV series airing new episodes every week, there will be a necessary change in your viewing habits next week.

Because this week, three Apple TV series aired their season finales:

Shrinking, a comedy by Bill Lawrence, has completed its 3rd season
The Hunt, a thriller series in French, has also completed its first season
The Last Thing He Told Me, Jennifer Garner’s mystery drama, aired its 2nd season finale today

Each series has officially come to an end—at least for now.

Among the newer Apple TV series that started more recently are Your Friends & Neighbors Season 2, Imperfect Women, and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Next week, the award-winning comedy Margo’s Got Money Troubles will also join them.

So, what are Apple’s future plans for each series that has ended? Here’s what we know so far.

What’s Next for Each Concluded Apple TV Series?

Out of the three series mentioned above, only one is expected to continue for a new season.

Shrinking’s 4th season has already been confirmed.

This week, co-creator Bill Lawrence shared exciting updates about what we can expect. The most notable was his confirmation that the entire cast will return for the next season—including Harrison Ford.

However, for The Hunt and The Last Thing He Told Me, this week’s season finales will likely be the last episodes we see.

The Hunt has a complicated history.

Apple initially introduced the series as an original work but later pulled it from the release schedule at the last minute due to plagiarism allegations. The series was inspired by Douglas Fairbairn’s novel Shoot—reportedly without Apple’s knowledge. After a rights agreement was made, the series received a new release date.

While a second season is always possible, it seems unlikely due to the confusion surrounding the series' origins.

The Last Thing He Told Me is similarly a series adapted from novels. The first season was based on the book of the same name by author Laura Dave. The second season was based on the sequel book published earlier this year.

While a third book being written in the future is always possible, the series has not been well received by critics or audiences. Therefore, it is a safe bet that Apple wouldn’t want this to end here.
