Apple TV has brought back one of last year's biggest hits, and this summer at least three more series are set to return—among them is a long-awaited production. Here’s what’s coming.
Ted Lasso Season 4
We believed, and now it’s finally happening: Ted Lasso is returning to Apple TV.
Ted Lasso Season 4 will premiere this August, according to star Hannah Waddingham.
The return of Ted Lasso comes after years of speculation about the fate of Apple TV's beloved hit.
Apple's statement about the Season 4 plot is as follows:
Ted is returning to Richmond and facing his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second-tier women's football team. Throughout the season, Ted and the team learn to jump without looking and seize opportunities they never thought they would.
Apple released a short clip that teases the plot; in the clip, Beard is reading Gemma Clarke's SoccerWomen book.

Sugar Season 2
Apple TV's Sugar series is a noir mystery series set in Los Angeles with a sci-fi twist and is returning this summer with its second season.
Sugar Season 2 will kick off with an episode on Friday, June 19 and will continue with weekly releases until August 7.
Colin Farrell stars as lead detective John Sugar. I loved the first season; it’s quite different from other shows Apple offers. I’m curious how the sci-fi elements will be integrated into the second season.
Here’s a spoiler-free summary of the series:
“Sugar” is a contemporary, unique take on the private detective story, one of the most popular and significant genres in literature, film, and television history. The second season brings back Los Angeles's iconic private detective and film enthusiast John Sugar. Emmy Award nominee Colin Farrell returns to a new case while searching for his missing sister, tracking down the troubled brother of a local boxer. As the investigation expands into a malicious citywide conspiracy, Sugar must confront himself; how far will he go to do what’s right?

Women in Blue (‘Las Azules’) Season 2
Women in Blue (‘Las Azules’) is a growing part of Apple’s foreign language series library.
The series is a fictional crime drama inspired by real events. It follows four women who join Mexico's first female police force, only to discover that it is a promotional show to distract from a serial killer on the loose.
Women in Blue Season 2 will start with an episode on Wednesday, August 12 and will continue with weekly releases until September 30.
Here’s a preview of the first season’s plot:
Set in 1971 and inspired by real events, “Women in Blue” tells the story of four women who defy the ultra-conservative norms of the time; they join Mexico's first female police force, only to discover that their unit is a promotional show to keep the media away from a serial killer. As the body count rises, María (Mori), whose determination to catch the killer turns into an obsession, along with Gabina (Amorita Rasgado), the daughter of a famous cop, Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana), a brilliant fingerprint analyst, and young rebel Valentina (Natalia Téllez), initiate a covert investigation to achieve what no male officer has been able to do: bring the serial killer to justice.
The first season of the series received critical acclaim—holding a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 16 reviews. Starring Bárbara Mori, it was created by award-winning producer and director Fernando Rovzar (‘Monarca’) and Pablo Aramendi (‘Tijuana’).
