Apple Arcade’s April lineup will add three new titles to the subscription-based gaming platform. These titles include two of the most acclaimed indie games of the last few years.

Indie Games Coming to Apple Arcade

As of April 2, Apple Arcade will include DREDGE+, Unpacking+, and My Very Hungry Caterpillar+. Both DREDGE and Unpacking are indie hits that have already built a fanbase outside of Apple Arcade.

Apple states that when DREDGE+ arrives on Arcade next month, it will include all released DLC content:

DREDGE+ brings the full version of the critically acclaimed fishing adventure to Apple Arcade. This version includes all released DLC content: The Pale Reach, The Iron Rig, Blackstone Key, and a special fishing rod. Players can experience the full breadth of this captivating sea journey as they navigate through foggy islands, uncover treasures from the depths, and explore the secrets hidden beneath the waves.

Meanwhile, Unpacking+, a fully unlocked version of a game that has recently kept my kids busy, is another indie favorite joining Arcade:

Recognized as the Cultural Impact winner at the 2023 App Store Awards, Unpacking+ is a zen puzzle game centered around the experience of unpacking items from boxes and organizing them in a new home. Combining block placement puzzles with home decor elements, Unpacking+ invites Arcade players to create a satisfying living space while learning hints about the lives they create.

Thirdly, everyone’s favorite greedy caterpillar My Very Hungry Caterpillar+ is joining Arcade in April:

Based on the character that has won the hearts of millions, My Very Hungry Caterpillar+ is an award-winning title featured among the “Best” on the App Store, allowing players to take care of their own pet caterpillars. As players feed it, play with it, and explore its world, the caterpillar grows and unlocks new activities; ultimately weaving a cocoon and transforming into a beautiful butterfly. This brings Carle’s timeless story to life in a delightful, interactive experience for the whole family.

Apple also highlights a Star Wars-themed update for Disney SpellStruck on March 19 and the Puyo Puyo Garden mode coming to Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop on April 9.

Apple Arcade is available for $6.99 per month after a one-month free trial, ad-free and without in-app purchases. A subscription provides access for up to five users through Family Sharing.
