Over the years, as battery technology has improved, chargers have become faster, smaller, and more efficient. Do you remember those little 5W chargers Apple gave us? Now, the same size can provide 60 watts of power output. However, now all these chargers look the same and work the same way. Cuktech’s new 100W GaN charger adds a beautiful real-time diagnostic display that provides all the information you need. Being able to see how fast something is charging has always been something I wanted. And it does even more than that. Here’s what you need to know.
CUKTECH 100W Ultra Charger
This charger seems to do everything you need. It is built around GaN charging technology, making it much smaller than a standard 100W charger. It is designed to charge four devices simultaneously and provides real-time data for each product. You get:
- Total 110W maximum output
- A total of four ports: 3 USB-C and 1 USB-A
- Fast charging capability: can charge a 14-inch MacBook Pro to 50% in just 30 minutes
- Smart screen with real-time watt monitoring
- Live temperature monitor (I love this feature)
- Includes a 240W USB-C cable
On paper, it checks many boxes you want from a wall charger. It’s also smaller than you might think, making it perfect to take anywhere you want. But how does it perform in practice?
My Experiences
This charger has been really great in my daily life. Of course, it works great as a charger. You get three USB-C ports and one USB-A port. So, I use it to charge my main devices like the MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and iPhone, and I also use it to charge my lav mic or my camera battery station that still uses USB-A. However, as someone who constantly reviews new products, this charger has been great for testing charging speeds.
For example, during my MacBook Neo test, Apple did not specify how fast the laptop could be charged. So, I used the Cuktech charger to find out the maximum charging speed of the MacBook Neo. It was limited to about 30W. The same goes for smaller technologies like the DJI Osmo Pocket or the new AirPods Max 2. This charger wonderfully shows how fast or slow some of your technologies are charging. You will be surprised to see how slowly your accessories charge.
The standout feature must be the temperature reading. There is a touch-sensitive area that allows you to switch between different views. One view shows real-time temperature readings. The nice thing about this is that it not only provides information but also indicates that if the temperature is too high, it will slow down the charging; thus, it keeps it below a certain temperature for safety. The user interface is really nice, and it’s good that it considers temperature when used at full capacity.
I highly recommend this charger. It works as expected, offers multiple uses beyond just being a charger for me, and the smart screen is fantastic.
Pricing, Availability, and Final Thoughts
The CUKTECH 100W charger is available for only $59 on Amazon. CUKTECH also offers a nice 240W cable in the package, which is a great addition. As I mentioned above, this charger is an easy recommendation for several reasons. Of course, you get a capable charger that can charge four devices simultaneously. But as a tech enthusiast, I love the ability to test real-time data and the charging speeds of different products.
What do you think about this? Is this diagnostic display enough for a purchase? Is charging speed visibility important to you? Let’s discuss below!
