Apple has started informing developers about their selection status in the WWDC participation lottery. Apple announced the Worldwide Developers Conference on March 23 and gave developers a week to apply for in-person attendance.
Apple Will Announce iOS 27 at WWDC in June
WWDC 2026 will start on Monday, June 8, and will last until Friday, June 5. Apple will announce iOS 27, macOS 27, and other OS 27 versions in the keynote presentation.
Following the announcement, Apple will hold sessions for a week detailing the latest technologies, such as new AI tools, for developers.
Attending WWDC offers developers a unique opportunity for face-to-face interaction with Apple engineers. Therefore, the demand for participation led to the need for a lottery system implemented nearly a decade ago.
Instead of the event selling out almost instantly, Apple allows developers a week to express their interest in attending. Those selected at random can proceed with ticket purchases. If they decline to attend, the lottery system continues, offering a second chance to those who missed out.
