Apple has confirmed that it will present three studies at the ACM Conference on Human-Computer Interaction 2026, which will be held later this month, including research on creating AI-powered user interfaces, accessibility, and the redesign of AirPods Pro 3. Here are the details.
Apple Proud to Support the Conference Again
Apple announced on its Machine Learning Research blog that it will participate in the ACM Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (CHI), taking place in Barcelona, Spain, from April 13 to 17.
In addition to presenting three studies at the event, Apple will also hold a demo session highlighting human-centered research on the redesigned fit of AirPods Pro 3.
The three papers that Apple researchers will present at the event are:
- Creating User Interfaces from Hidden Designer Feedback: This study, which we previously addressed, examines how Apple trains AI models to create sleeker and more usable interfaces by utilizing feedback from professional designers.
- Creating UI Components with Different Variations: In this study, Apple researchers detail how they use AI to help developers experiment with different UI variations, quickly generating and comparing various designs.
- SceneScout: AI-Powered Access to Street-Level Images for Visually Impaired Users: This study, which we addressed here, explains how Apple researchers provide interactive, AI-generated descriptions of street view images by combining Apple Maps APIs with a multimodal large language model.
During the event, Apple will also conduct four hands-on demos highlighting human-centered research on the redesigned fit of AirPods Pro 3:
Supported by over 10,000 3D ear scans and more than 100,000 hours of user research analysis in Human Factors, Biomechanics, Acoustics, and Industrial Design, this demo invites participants to experience improved fit, acoustic sealing, and Active Noise Cancellation firsthand. The aim is to spark a discussion on how wearable technologies can adapt to the full diversity of human anatomy.
The demo schedule is as follows:
- Monday, April 13: 18:00 – 19:30
- Tuesday, April 14: 15:45 – 18:00
- Wednesday, April 15: 12:45 – 14:15
- Thursday, April 16: 12:45 – 14:15
