Apple Invitations has added seven new features with its second new version in the last two months. One of the standout features is an iMessage app that allows you to share invitations without leaving the Invitations app.
Apple Invitations Now Includes iMessage App
Apple Invitations version 1.8 is arriving today as the April update for Apple’s digital invitation service for iCloud+ subscribers.
The new version includes seven new features, including changes around Image Playground and Apple Music.
Here is the complete list from today’s release:
- Image Playground themes are now added to the backgrounds gallery, making it easier to create an original image suitable for the vibe of your event.
- Hosts can now manually edit the guest list to update guest responses and adjust the number of additional guests.
- The new Invitations iMessage app allows you to quickly share an existing invitation without needing to leave the Messages app.
- The new All Events view on the dashboard allows you to easily browse both your upcoming and past events in one place.
- Hosts can now share or download an image of the invitation card, making it easier to share on social media.
- The Apple Music Shared Playlist box now offers personalized playlist suggestions based on your listening history and provides more searchable playlists to help you set the perfect music for your event.
- Hosts can now specify the time zone for their events, so all guests know when they should arrive.

Apple also notes that the new version of Apple Invitations includes the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.
Apple Invitations was launched as an iCloud+ feature in February 2025. A year later, the electronic invitation app is still only available for iPhone, but it has received many feature enhancements and content refreshes.
In March, Apple Invitations was updated with a countdown feature to the next event from the app’s widget — not just for a specific event.
Apple Invitations is available in the App Store for iPhone. An iCloud+ subscription is required to create a digital invitation, and anyone can respond.
