Sports Center is no longer just a feature available on DIRECTV's televisions. This week, DIRECTV updated its iPhone and iPad app, bringing the live sports center functionality to iOS.

DIRECTV announced the app update today with a blog post:

DIRECTV's Sports Center has long been an established hub for finding and managing live sports on DIRECTV devices. Now, it is also available in the DIRECTV app! The update is available immediately for iOS devices; just open the App Store and tap Update.

The company highlights six main features of the Sports Center on iPhone and iPad:

  • Finding live games broadcast on DIRECTV channels
  • Reviewing upcoming programs to always know what’s coming up
  • Exploring league, matchup, and team pages for additional game details
  • Recording games broadcast on DIRECTV channels, including specific matchups or favorite teams
  • Favorite teams, so games and updates will be prominently displayed
  • Accessing games from streaming apps (like YouTube, Prime Video, ESPN Select, and Peacock) along with DIRECTV channels. Separate subscriptions may be required.

After updating to the latest version of the app, DIRECTV subscribers can start using Sports Center on their iPhone and iPad by tapping the “Sports” icon in the navigation bar.

DIRECTV also announced new multi-view March Madness Mix configurations to watch multiple games on a single screen.

Finally, the company is running a promotion valid until April 23, which includes the Sports Package offered free for one month with the CHOICE package, priced at $59.99 per month.
