Apple TV is preparing a lineup filled with beloved comedies like Ted Lasso and Trying, along with a few fan-favorite sci-fi series this summer. Here are three sci-fi series returning to Apple TV.
#1: Dark Matter Season 2
Dark Matter is returning this summer with a new season. The cast includes Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, and many more.
The first season was based on Blake Crouch's New York Times bestselling novel. Crouch was the showrunner for the Apple TV adaptation and co-wrote the original story for season 2 with it.
Dark Matter season 2 will kick off with an episode on Friday, August 28, and will continue weekly until October 30.

According to Apple's official season 2 summary:
The second season begins with the Dessens family settling into a seemingly safe life in a world, until unimaginable events force them to flee once again. As Jason’s obsession with the Box deepens, Daniela’s (Connelly) increasing paranoia pushes her to her limits, threatening their fragile balance. Meanwhile, Amanda (Braga) and Ryan (Simpson) unite in a desperate effort to return home. Blair (Brugel) is determined to stop them, while Leighton (Okeniyi) pursues his dream of creating a perfect world.
#2: Silo Season 3
Silo is one of Apple TV's biggest hits, and season 3 promises to excitingly expand the world outside the silos.
The show is based on Hugh Howey’s popular novel trilogy, and this new season will cover events from the 2nd and 3rd books—featuring a major return story that introduces all new characters.
Silo season 3 will begin with its first episode on Friday, July 3, and will be released weekly until September 4.

Here’s Apple’s preview for season 3:
The third season of “Silo” continues the story of a dystopian society of 10,000 people living underground under mysterious conditions, uncovering an origin story that dates back centuries. In the present day, Juliette Nichols (Ferguson) survives the forced “cleaning” but returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from the rebellion, facing a dangerous new threat. Meanwhile, in “Previous Times,” journalist Helen Drew (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) are on the trail of a conspiracy that draws them into a chain of events filled with disaster and irreversible consequences.
#3: Sugar Season 2
Sugar is a neo-noir detective series that doesn’t appear to be sci-fi on the surface. Without giving spoilers, it won’t be hard for those who watched season 1 to recall a major sci-fi surprise that will impact season 2.
Colin Farrell stars in this series set in Los Angeles, reminiscent of old-school private detective mystery films.
Sugar season 2 will begin with an episode on Friday, June 19, and will continue weekly until August 7.

The second season brings back Los Angeles’s iconic private detective and film enthusiast John Sugar. Emmy Award nominee Colin Farrell returns to chase after his missing beloved sister while taking on a new case involving a troubled local boxer’s brother. As the investigation turns into a malicious citywide conspiracy, Sugar must confront the question of how far he will go to do the right thing.
