Starting today, users can ask Shazam questions to identify a song without leaving ChatGPT. Here’s how it works.

The Shazam app is now available on ChatGPT

A few months ago, Apple brought Apple Music to ChatGPT, allowing users to create playlists using the chatbot's natural language capabilities.

Now, Apple-owned Shazam is also launching a ChatGPT application. Users can simply ask, "Shazam, what’s playing?" or "Shazam, what is this song?" to identify music without leaving the app. This is possible even if Shazam is not installed on their devices.

The setup is quite simple: Users can go to https://chatgpt.com/apps/ to find Shazam and link their accounts.

Once this process is complete, users can initiate a prompt starting with the word “Shazam” (or type /Shazam to call the app) and experience an interaction familiar to Shazam users.

Shazam will identify the song and display a card containing information such as the artist's name, song title, album cover, and how many times users have used Shazam to identify that melody.

Users can preview the song from the results or save it to their Shazam libraries (if the Shazam app is installed). Alternatively, they can continue their conversations by asking ChatGPT to create an Apple Music playlist inspired by the result.

The Shazam application for ChatGPT is rolling out globally and is available on ChatGPT for iOS, Android, and web.
