Spotify is celebrating its 20th birthday today and is offering a new gift to users with the integration of Claude. Spotify's music and podcast streaming service is now integrated with Anthropic's artificial intelligence. Here’s how this integration works.

Claude users can now receive music and podcast recommendations from Spotify

The new Spotify feature is available for Claude on desktop and mobile applications for iPhone and Android devices.

This feature allows Claude users to link a Spotify account and then use Spotify to receive music and podcast recommendations from the chatbot application.

Starting today, Spotify users can connect their accounts to Claude to receive recommendations based on their personal tastes and listening history. These recommendations are provided thanks to Spotify's personalization technology and deep catalog expertise.

Spotify's integration with Claude also includes the audio playback feature. This includes the ability to preview audio, save songs and podcasts to your Spotify library, and play media directly within Claude.

Claude can create Spotify playlists from commands

While both free and paid Spotify users can access Claude, Spotify Premium subscribers are offered an additional feature: creating playlists by defining an atmosphere or mood.

Apple introduced its own AI-powered playlist creation feature as part of Apple Music with iOS 26.4. The new feature is now available.

Finally, Spotify mentions that Claude uses Spotify Connect, allowing seamless transitions between listening sessions on the Claude, the Spotify app, or any device. Click here for more information about the Spotify and Claude collaboration.
