Apple's upcoming Siri refresh took the stage at Google's Cloud Next '26 keynote.
Google Highlighted Apple’s Core Model and Apple Intelligence at the Keynote
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian stood on stage today in front of an Apple logo, showcasing the company as an important customer.
"Earlier this year, we announced a major partnership that will bring our technological power to users around the world with one of the world's most iconic brands," said Kurian.
"We are collaborating with Apple as the preferred cloud provider to develop the next generation of Apple Core Models based on Gemini technology. These models will support future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized Siri this year."
Apple did not specify when the new Siri will arrive, other than in 2026. However, we now expect Gemini-powered Apple Intelligence and Siri features to be a significant part of iOS 27. Apple is expected to release this software update this summer.

Google first confirmed the agreement with Apple in a joint statement released on January 12. Apple is expected to announce the first results of the new partnership at WWDC 2026 on June 8.
Apple is expected to present a more capable version of Siri, which it first introduced at WWDC 2024, as part of iOS 18. However, these features will not arrive until iOS 27. (Apple changed its iOS version numbers last year and used iOS 26 instead of iOS 19.) Developers and public beta testers will be able to test the new features in June and July before the official release in September.
The new Siri refresh is expected to include an independent Siri application, continuous conversation logs, and a more traditional chatbot-like experience. Siri also seems to be able to distinguish multiple actions from a single command.
