Netflix is updating its iPhone app with vertical video streaming following issues experienced with the Apple TV app.

Netflix announced that the new app will arrive in April

The company revealed the new app feature in a letter sent to investors after its latest earnings report.

In addition to the continuous innovations in our new TV user interface, after a testing and feedback process, we are launching an updated mobile experience that includes vertical video discovery streaming at the end of the month. This redesign will better reflect our expanding entertainment offerings and make it easier for members to interact whenever and however they want.

Netflix indicates that the "refreshed" app with vertical video will arrive by the end of April.

Additionally, we are redesigning our mobile experience, including the vertical video launch at the end of the month.

Moreover, Netflix co-founder and Chairman Reed Hastings announced plans to step down from the board.

Netflix users may wonder if the new dedicated video player for Apple TV is the reason for this situation.

Netflix launched a new gaming app for subscribers

Earlier this month, the company launched a brand new app called Netflix Playground for subscribers. This app features mini-games that compete with Apple Arcade games aimed at a younger audience.

Last month, the company raised prices for each plan, including the ad-supported tier.

In February, Netflix withdrew its offer to become HBO's new home following Paramount's increased bid.
