The next Apple Shot on iPhone advertising campaign is writing itself: four NASA astronauts on the Artemis mission are capturing stunning images of Earth using the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
As confirmed on NASA's official Flickr page, three published photos were taken with the iPhone. The images show Earth from the capsule of the Orion spacecraft.
As previously reported, Apple was not officially involved in the approval process for the use of iPhones on the spacecraft. Each astronaut was equipped with a silver iPhone 17 Pro Max in their suits, and the crew also had the option to use GoPro Hero 11 and Nikon D5 cameras.
Although many famous photos released from this mission were taken with the Nikon D5, NASA's Flickr account confirmed that the new photos were taken with the iPhone:

Above is an image taken with an iPhone showing astronaut Christina Koch looking out of Orion's main cabin window at the illuminated Earth.
You can follow the live progress of the Artemis mission on NASA's website. Later today, the ship will orbit the far side of the Moon and break the record for the longest distance traveled by humans in space.
