One of the Apple products I have been looking forward to the most is the 'HomePad'; a new HomePod-type device with a screen. However, according to the leaker Kosutami, the waiting period may be longer than expected.

The 'HomePad' product is expected to be released this fall

For the past 18 months, there have been rumors that Apple wants to expand its Home product range.

Currently, the company only sells three Home products: Apple TV 4K, HomePod, and HomePod mini.

The new 'HomePad', a mix between a HomePod and an iPad, has been rumored since late 2024. It was initially expected to be launched last March, but it has reportedly been continuously delayed due to issues with Siri's artificial intelligence.

Since it has been reported that the developments for Siri's Gemini have been postponed to at least iOS 26.5, possibly iOS 27, it seems that the HomePad has also been delayed again.

The leaker Kosutami shared on the X platform that the product is now expected to be released this fall.

No further details were provided, but if this timing is correct, it definitely concerns a situation related to Siri.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported that the device is heavily dependent on upcoming artificial intelligence updates for Siri, so Apple will not release the product until the new Siri is ready.

The HomePad is not the only new Home product Apple is working on; the company is also reportedly developing a security camera and a video doorbell with Face ID support.

Perhaps Apple plans to introduce its extensive Home product range on the biggest stage; at the iPhone 18 event in September.

Or perhaps they are not sufficiently confident that Siri will be ready before the release of iOS 27.

In any case, this is disappointing news, especially while there is still a lot of uncertainty regarding the status of Siri.
