My iPhone is often on silent, but the new iOS 26 ringtone made me reconsider this choice because it’s truly a pleasant melody. Here’s my new favorite iPhone ringtone.

'Dreamer' in iOS 26 is a beautiful reinterpretation of the default iPhone ringtone

I remember the days before smartphones; back then, ringtones were a big deal. Since cell phones could do little more than make calls, send messages, and maybe play a few games, ringtones were an important feature.

Nowadays, ringtones are overshadowed by the millions of things the iPhone can do. However, this hasn’t stopped Apple from occasionally offering new ringtone options.

With iOS 26, the iPhone gained seven new ringtones. Six of these are fun variations of the default 'Reflection' ringtone, along with a completely unique addition called 'Little Bird'.

I love that Apple chose to reinterpret the default iPhone ringtone; instead of offering completely different sounds, they opted for this approach.

The 'Reflection' ringtone has now become iconic, and each of the six new options is wonderfully crafted; they are not just cheap remixes.

While I love all the new additions, my favorite is Dreamer. You can listen to it below.

It carries echoes of the default tone but has a fun lo-fi touch.

The other Reflection alternatives are great too. My two additional favorites are Surge and Reflected.
