This fall, Apple's first foldable iPhone is expected to be introduced. However, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman stated today that there is "no doubt" that the iPhone Fold will be released a little later than the iPhone 18 Pro.

According to Gurman, the iPhone Fold is Coming ‘A Little Later’ Than Other Models

Today, Mark Gurman held a live Q&A session on Bloomberg and answered various questions related to Apple.

You can find the recording of the event on Bloomberg's website.

At one point, Gurman was asked about the expected launch timeline for the iPhone Fold.

Last week, a Barclays analyst claimed that the foldable phone might not hit the market until December. Previous expectations were for a release right after the announcement in September.

Today, Gurman said:

Producing foldable phones is very difficult. That screen technology is one of the most complex screen technologies available on the market. Therefore, there is no doubt it will come a little later than the Pro phones. […]

When Apple designs a significant new form factor, especially something complex, as we saw with the iPhone X, there will be a slight delay compared to other models.

While Gurman did not delve into a specific launch timing, it seems he does not believe the launch will be delayed for too long after the iPhone 18 Pro.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone Fold in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. However, like the iPhone X and some other models over the years, it appears that the shipping date for the foldable phone may slip to October, November, or perhaps even December.
