The iPhone Fold is six months away from its launch, and according to a new leak, its wrinkle-free screen is approaching a significant milestone: it is preparing to enter mass production.

The iPhone Fold screen panel is expected to start mass production in May

This week, several new details emerged about Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone.

Bloomberg reported software changes in iOS 27 that will provide iPad-like application features on the foldable device, and yesterday, reports highlighting hardware specifications such as RAM and storage along with expected pricing were published.

Today, the leaker Instant Digital shared a new update. This update covers the anticipated 'wrinkle-free' screen, which is the most crucial component of the iPhone Fold.

Instant Digital states that the iPhone Fold screen panels, which will be provided by Samsung, are planned to enter mass production in May.

This comes after Instant Digital's previous post last month, which indicated that the entire iPhone Fold device was planned for mass production in July.

In January at CES, Samsung showcased a prototype of the latest generation of foldable screen technology. This provided a great opportunity to see what to expect from the iPhone Fold, especially when compared side by side with previous foldable screens.

The first Samsung foldable device was released seven years ago. During this time, there have been many rumors about Apple researching foldable screen technology. However, according to reports, Apple has avoided launching a foldable iPhone until a wrinkle-free design is achieved.

All signs point to the year this will finally happen.
