Google has launched a very interesting application called "Google AI Edge Eloquent" for iOS today. This application stands somewhere between a tool aimed at users and an experiment.
Google AI Edge Eloquent allows you to "convert messy speech into well-processed text." When you start speaking, you see a real-time transcription and waveform, and you have the option to pause.
When you press the pause button, Google will clean the text and automatically copy it to your clipboard so you can easily paste it into other applications.

The application allows you to see key points as bullet points and makes the text more formal, shorter, or longer. You can also view usage statistics that show the word count and how many words you spoke per minute.
In the upper right corner, there is a switch that allows you to enable "completely offline" mode, ensuring that conversations do not leave your device. Activating Gemini offers the possibility of "enhancing text polishing."
The history tab shows everything you have transcribed and offers a deletion option. In the dictionaries section, you can "add frequently used names or terms to improve accuracy." This also includes the ability to import such words from your recently sent Gmail messages by signing in with your Google Account.

Google states that this application offers "voice note taking without a subscription" and that there are "no limits" in terms of usage.
"AI Edge" is Google's brand for on-device artificial intelligence experiences. Eloquent joins the existing Google AI Edge Gallery (Android + iOS) application, which allows you to download the latest Gemma version, and received a major update with last week's model launch.
Currently, we cannot see Google AI Edge Eloquent in the Play Store. It is unclear whether the application is only for iOS.
