Do wireless CarPlay adapters really work? A few years ago, I got a new car that came with wired Apple CarPlay. I really wanted wired CarPlay, but it didn't seem sensible to change the entire entertainment system. Fortunately, there are popular solutions to convert standard CarPlay to wireless CarPlay, and they work with iOS 26 and Apple's latest iPhones.
Adding Wireless CarPlay is Very Easy
Setting up the wireless CarPlay adapter is no harder than pairing with wireless CarPlay.
Connect the adapter to your car's USB port that powers the wired CarPlay, then pair your iPhone with the adapter via Bluetooth from the Settings app.
When my adapter arrived, I just tried it to check if it paired. Then a few days later, I had a total surprise and joy moment.
I took a short city tour while forgetting my phone in my pocket, and a few seconds later, it automatically appeared on my CarPlay screen.
The most important thing is that the steering wheel controls for audio, track skipping, and voice input really work.
I have been incredibly happy with the Carlink system for years.
If you already have CarPlay but want it to be wireless, I highly recommend trying Carlink.
The price can be much more reasonable than buying an aftermarket wireless CarPlay head unit and paying for installation.
