Earlier this year, Apple introduced a new subscription package called Apple Creator Studio. This package provides users access to all Apple professional software, such as Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, and Pixelmator Pro on Mac and iPad.
With this launch, we received Pixelmator Pro for iPad for the first time, and a new Liquid Glass design was introduced on Mac. However, this design has not yet been released for users who purchased the app earlier, and it doesn't seem to be changing.
When Apple first released the new version of Pixelmator Pro for Creator Studio users, it promised that updates would continue for users who had previously purchased the apps; it only noted that there would be a few features exclusive to Creator Studio. This is quite a fair situation and so far, it remains valid.
However, there is a problem here – you will not be able to get Liquid Glass.
New update, no liquid glass
The first major update to Pixelmator Pro since the Creator Studio launch was released this week. This update added improved file support for some new camera models and new app mockup templates that include iPhone 17 models. This update came to both the pre-paid version and the Creator Studio version; however, there is a main difference: the pre-paid app is version 3.8, while the Creator Studio app is version 4.2.
In terms of functionality, they are almost completely the same – but Apple decided that those who had previously purchased the app would not receive the new Liquid Glass design. Some may see this as an advantage since many are not in love with the design language.
Still, if you love Pixelmator Pro, have purchased the app earlier, and want the Liquid Glass design – it seems you currently have no luck.
