It has been a big week for iPhone Fold rumors, but a reliable leak source has shared updates about two potential design changes related to the iPhone 18 Pro.

Recent updates indicate that the design of the iPhone 18 Pro is not yet finalized

Today, the Weibo leak source Digital Chat Station provided updates on expectations regarding the design of the iPhone 18 Pro.

The first post addresses changes in the Dynamic Island of the iPhone 18 Pro.

Reports from various sources suggest that Apple is considering placing some Face ID components under the screen of the iPhone 18 Pro. This would make the Dynamic Island approximately 35% smaller than that of the iPhone 17 Pro.

However, previously, Digital Chat Station was the only voice expressing doubts about this change. They stated that a smaller Dynamic Island was Apple’s initial plan, but the company was considering using molds from last year's iPhones, which would mean minimal changes to the Dynamic Island.

Today, they shared a new update. Here is the translation of the post they shared online:

Current feedback from the supply chain suggests an A/B test scenario: one option retains the current screen mold, while the other includes a design where Face ID RX components are placed under the screen with a "Mini Dynamic Island."

It seems that Apple is continuing to evaluate both options, and no decision has been made yet. If a smaller Dynamic Island does not materialize, it would eliminate one of the most notable design changes for the iPhone 18 Pro.

In a follow-up post, the leak source responds to a question about the rear camera.

They state that the design of the rectangular plateau will not change from last year. However, they indicate that there will be "minor adjustments in body materials and design details" on the back.

This refers to changes that will provide a more cohesive design between aluminum and glass cuts, according to previous rumors. The iPhone 17 Pro has a two-tone design instead of a seamless look. The color options for this year will also be different.

Since the iPhone 17 Pro introduced a bold new design, it does not seem likely that Apple will make significant changes this year. Instead, these recent leaks are consistent with the kind of incremental changes we expect from most iPhone updates.
